Trying out Troy Hill

23 07 2015

Could Troy Hill be the most diverse urban landscape in Pittsburgh? It’s got an island, a leafy riverfront trail, a major highway, steep hills, historic homes, modern lofts, a plateau with breathtaking views, and much more! We won’t walk past all of it, but we’ll cover some of it and take you to great vantage points to see the rest on an urban hike of Troy Hill!

We’ll begin at the parking lot under the 31st Street Bridge on Washington’s Landing (yep, that’s part of Troy Hill) and end at 2:00pm at Scratch food & beverage, a restaurant coming to Troy Hill in August, but holding a special event the evening of the hike and opening early just for us! In between, we’ll take in the murals along the new Route 28 walkway, visit a unique bookstore and gallery space, climb some city steps… we could go on, but we’d rather save it for the hike!

So, join us on Saturday, July 25th and bring some scratch for Scratch (they’re still cash only at this point). Other necessary items? A water bottle, comfortable shoes, and whatever the day’s weather requires – we hike rain or shine!

We look forward to seeing you Saturday!

Recap:

Saturday July 25
11:30 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
