Route: 5.5 miles
Squirrel Hill is a neighborhood sandwiched between two of Pittsburgh’s verdant jewels: Frick Park and Schenley Park, and dotted with several other small parks. Join us on this healthy trek (approximately 5.5 miles) as we connect these two parks, learning about some of their newest amenities, and enjoy some of our Squirrel Hill’s other features.
Meet inside the U.S. Post Office on Murray Avenue. The branch isn’t staffed, but the foyer is open for certain customer services and those of us looking to enjoy the historic mural inside.
As always, come prepared for whatever the weather holds that day and a lengthy walk. Since this hike is longer than our usual ones, we will keep up a good pace and have fewer stops to make sure it doesn’t run too long. But, if you have the time, plan to stick around to enjoy one of Squirrel Hill’s many eateries.
