For only our third hike since the COVID-19 pandemic, we couldn’t be more excited to hike around McKees Rocks and Stowe! Join us this Sunday, August 13 from 9:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m. We are starting by Lynn’s Cafe at 800 Broadway Ave in Stowe; Come early to this neighborhood diner for a sit down breakfast before the hike begins.
This is a 4.25 mile hike lasting about 3.5 hours — starting in Stowe and then walking down to McKees Rocks. This hike has everything you’d expect for Pittsburgh: hills, bridges, rivers, a tunnel, business districts and LOTS of churches.
As always, check the weather and dress accordingly. This hike has little tree coverage so bring a hat/sunscreen! Barring extreme heat, downpours, or wildfire smoke, we will be hiking, but you can check our Facebook page for last-minute updates.
Urban Hike is an all-volunteer group and our hikes are always FREE.
